Kamas Cabin

We have been lucky enough a few times to go up to The Bendt's Cabin in Kamas. They have a beautiful cabin set right in the heart of the mountains. It's close to Park City, Heber, Midway, all those good places. We went up there for Labor Day Weekend.
From the first time we went up here, I've always noticed this tree. A few miles from their house. It sits up on the mountain side all by itself. Love it.
Check out their cabin.....awesome!
Steve got a great Father's Day present and they put a chipping/putting green in the front yard. Every mans dream.
I secretly love Christmas trees. I was sad when we had to take ours down after the Holiday Season. Amber says, "It's my cabin so I can do what I want." She keeps it up year round. She will decorate it to the season. Adorable, I love it!
My view off the deck while watching the boys play away on the green.
Rodger, Steve, and Braden

Rodger and I riding the golf cart at night.
We did some four wheeling. Here's a story: Braden's friend came up one afternoon. They only have 2 four wheelers, so Braden and Chelsea went on one and Rodger and I on the other. His friend, Jeff, came up on his Bullet Bike. So he went on a little ride up the canyon. We told him to be back for dinner by 7. Dinner rolls around and no sign of Jeff. We eat, give him some time, and while sitting out on the deck we hear sirens. We joke saying, "What if that is Jeff" Time continues and we start to get worried. Braden and Chels go for a drive to go find him. Guess what, it was him! He was turning around a corner going 50 MPH and hit loose gravel. Nothing serious, a quick ambulance ride to the hospital for some nasty cuts on his elbow and knee. At least he is a little smart while riding those stupid things and has a nice padded jacket and full covered helmet. Ah...scared us to death. Don't worry, this won't stop him from doing it again. I believe those things should be illegal!
Beautiful waterfalls about 25 miles up the road.

My favorite. I love the green moss.
On Saturday the boys woke up early and went golfing at The Homestead. Us girls, off to Swiss Days! Question, why haven't I been notified of this wonderful place before? Rodger called it Quilted Bear on steroids. Oh my goodness, I was in heaven. The boys met up with us after golfing and Amber and I marked down which tents we liked to get approval from the husbands. Luckily Rodger likes this kind of stuff. I got a really cute Magnetic Calendar and a cute clock. I believe we now have about 8 clocks in our 1,200 square foot home. Clocks were a big wedding present when we got married. Anyways....on Monday we took off on our way home to Park City. Everyone went on the new Alpine Coaster but Rodger would not dare wait in the 2 hour long line. I agreed. So we took off to The Outlets. I haven't been there in a while and they have a lot more stores. They have our favorite, Guess!! We were so excited. Rodger was being so cute and would only go in my department and just start picking out clothes and having me try them on, I was in heaven. He is such a good shopping partner. I later realized, it's probably because he doesn't know what to get me for my birthday. That's ok, because I told him my birthday is over, as far as presents are concerned. I got a lot and it was well needed.
We had a great weekend. We slept in, ate great food, played games, watched football, shopped, and lots more. I love long weekends.

Too Soon

Well crap-ola. I spoke too soon. Our contract on our house is dead as of this morning. The buyers are First Time Home Buyers and got scared to say the least. So our home is back on the market. This actually is kinda good news. I'm being Positive Polly, because we still haven't found a house yet. Yes, we did put an offer on a Short Sale in Fruit Heights, but I'm not feeling it anymore and those things take forever. Especially this one because the Bank hasn't approved a price yet.
I'm sure my dad will be happy with the news because we were going to move in with him during the transition period. This way maybe we can find a house and close both at the same time for one smooth move. Wish us luck. I'm happy, Rodger not so much.....more work for him but we are being positive!
Let us know if you know of any takers:)

The Process Has Begun!

Our house is under contract as of last night. Our fingers are crossed because something easily can happen and the deal could be over with so quickly. I had mixed emotions while Rodger and I were signing the Acceptance.
A. It was funny because we were laying in bed in our underwear signing the papers away.
B. We were making fun of each others signatures. Rodger said mine looked like a 1st graders and I said Rodger looked like he was trying to be a doctor.
C. It's our first house.
D. We've had a lot of memories in this house and we'll miss it.
Anyways, I don't know if I should: scream, cry, smile, laugh, jump up and down, or curl up in a ball.
But seriously, we are very happy for this new adventure. Even though we love this house and will miss it, we can make a new house our home and we can't wait.
Fingers Crossed!!!

Dear Husband,

I can't wait for you to come home today! I've missed you so much. Here's just a few to name:
*I teared up when I saw your Blue Toothbrush wasn't resting right by my Pink one.
*Getting ready in the morning and not knowing your close by still sleeping or watching TV.
*Sitting at work and regretting going home because you wouldn't be there.
*Watching the new movie: Time Travelers Wife and wanting you beside me. (Mom and Ash your sniffling company was just as great)
*I missed seeing you at 1st base for our first Fall Softball Season.
*Going home each night by myself.
*Falling asleep alone (But I'm proud-All 3 nights alone in my house-Didn't get scared!)
Funny Story: I went to bed sleeping right in the middle with your pillow behind mine. I wake up to my alarm and I'm on my side sleeping only on my pillow and yours is in your spot. It made me laugh, but then I wanted to cry.
*I miss your face
*Our "Yummy Mixes"
*Eating with you
*Your laugh
I pretty much just miss you!
I can't wait for my prince to come home this evening. Expect a HUGE hug! And lots of kisses.
I love you babe.

Our Kaysville Cottage

Let's refresh: My 20th birthday is when Rodger proposed to me. We were in California staying at his grandparents beach home in Long Beach. We went to Dodger's game, a helicopter ride to Catalina, it was magical. He proposed on the beach and I remember when I saw my ring for the first time, I thought it looked like a star:) Anywho. When we got back to their house, Rodger gave me a birthday card and inside was a picture of a house, which is what is our house today. It was the house that I've always thought was cute and he bought it (which I would like to add he bought it all by himself at age 20)! Well this all happened in September. He closed on the house in October and I wouldn't let him move in until we could together, which wasn't until our wedding in February. We had 4 months to make the house ours.

We scrapped off the "Cottage Cheese" ceilings in the family and dining room. This was rough, but so worth it!
Took off layers and layers of wallpaper in the Master bedroom.
Made a patio in the backyard and have added more plants to make it look nicer.
Changed all the light fixtures and all plugs.
Threw on some paint to give it color and attitude.
We had a lot of fun doing this together. It was hard work, but so worth it.

And guess what? It's FOR SALE!

Best agent in the world, my husband.
Here she is

We have loved our house. Truly have. The reason we are moving is to take advantage of this great market for buyers. If our house can't sell, then we will be happy to stay. We are excited for this possible new adventure. If you know of anyone interested have them call Rodger (number listed above)

In other news:

Rodger is selling his Scooter!

He has loved his "scoot" and it's been fun to ride around on. We have just decided we no longer need it. You can see an add for it on KSL.

Snowbird Saturday

Our friend Braden got hooked up with some Summer Tickets to go to Snowbird.  It's beautiful up there!  Rodger and I have been there before, it was 2 years ago that I took him there for his birthday and we went four wheeling.  That was fun.  Anyways we went up this past Saturday.
On our way up in the tram to the tip top.
Braden and Chelsea
At the very top it was about 40*.  It felt like fall, which got me excited!

On the Ski Lift up to the activities!  Muah!  I love kisses from Rodger.

We went to go on the Alpine Slides but the line was forever.  We then headed over to the Zip Line, waited in that line for about 45 minutes, got to the top, and it started to rain.  Therefore we didn't get to go.  Oh well.  It was still a fun trip.
