A Visit To CA

We thought it would be a very nice surprise to go visit Cindy and Randy for a long weekend over Mother's Day. They live in Discovery Bay, California. It is about an hour from San Francisco. It reminds me of Eden, Utah. You go through a valley of hills to get to the cozy little place. They have what is called The Delta (a lake) with homes that back up to it. It really is quite dreamy. I can see why they love it there. We left on Wednesday May 5th and came home Mother's Day night. If you remember, we were here last year after Jeff and Amber's Wedding. At this time, they were living in his Yacht. That was a pretty neat experience.
Check out their palace. They live on hole #10 of a Golf Course. You can only imagine what we did most of the weekend.
Here is their lovely pool that I enjoyed a number of times by myself. The first day we got there, I wasn't feeling well at all. I woke up with a bad stomach ache, I thought I was going to die. I hate flying and I get pretty motion sick and so you can only imagine how awful the flight there was. I wanted to die. At least I have a very caring husband who rubbed my back to soothe me into sleep.
When we first arrived at their home, golf was first on the list. I stayed home and made friends with their toilet and new dog, Jaxon. Don't worry, the next day I was feeling well enough to move around, although the tummy ache lasted pretty much all weekend.
Here is little Jaxon. He warmed up to me right away. It took him until the end of the trip to like Rodger.
After their first 9 holes, with many more to come!
On Thursday we went to the San Francisco Zoo. It was windy in Discovery Bay, so this made a perfect day in the City. We were lucky enough to have nice weather here.
Myself, Rodg, Justin, RJ (Randy's boys), and Randy.

The monkey's were my favorite.
Stop looking at me, Swan.
I enjoyed this "be quiet" sign:)
I love it when they call me Big Papa. He was huge!!
...And she's just pondering...
hahaha

Their train ride was awful. You went around a very small circle 3 times in a row. They obviously think we'll see something different the 2nd or 3rd time....nope. It was a big waste of $4 each.
Cute little thing.
The rest of our vacation consisted of golf! I didn't mind at all. I actually enjoyed it. I would walk most of the course (I was trying to get in my steps for my work contest). Walking made it much more enjoyable.
We also went to a few parties with their friends, ate yummy food, and played lots of Yahtzee.
Randy
Cindy loves to golf. Rodger is lucky to have a mother who loves it as much as he does.
I even took a few whacks at it. I think I want to sign up for lessons. I believe I would really enjoy it. I mean, I am my Father's Daughter.

I'm soooo soooo sorry babe. I had to do it. This is Rodger's "Pomegranate Berry Face". It gets me every time.

My husband's so hot right now.
The weather was so lovely. High 70's everyday.
Except for Sunday, it was a little chilly. This is what I do when my feeties are cold. They are the covers for drivers:)

We had such a good time! Thank you, thank you, and thank you Randy & Cindy! Happy Mother's Day to Cindy, My Mom, and Holly. We love you all so very much!

Favorites of each:
Cindy-Oh so caring
My Mom-Her cooking
Holly-Her laugh

We had a very special surprise when we got home Sunday night. While we were gone, our kitchen was getting a makeover. We walked into the house with our backs towards our kitchen. These are our faces moments before we turned around. We were soooo nervous and excited to see how it turned out.
You just wait until you see the pictures. Night and day. I am in love.

Random Updates

I understand I haven't posted a picture of this darling girl (Sarah) since her birth. She truly is a joy. All of us girls are in Heaven.
We have made some changes to our front yard. Pictures to come. Along with house pictures, I have realized I never posted any.
We got granite! And what a difference it makes. Pictures to come also.
My husband is addicted to "Call of Duty." He looks like a nerd and is one.
We celebrated the girls 4th birthday back on April 24th. Cutest Princess and Spiderman I've ever seen.
  • I got a treadmill a few weeks ago, because my husband rocks. I love/hate it.
  • I can't wait to start on our garden. First we need to weed the grass field.
  • I have been reading the series, The Hunger Games, and I love them.
  • We are doing a "Walk-A-Bout" at work. We wear pedometers everyday, all day. We are in teams of 6 and it will last for 6 weeks. Getting 10,000 steps a day is good and I'm averaging above that. Yay for my treadmill!
  • We started softball a few weeks ago. Our team name is Utah House Doctors. We were sponsored by Scott's Real Estate Team. We have won both of our 2 games.
  • Rodgie and I leave for California Wednesday until Sunday to be with Rodger's Mom for Mother's Day. We can't wait.

That's it for now folks!

I Heart the Jazz

I have loved the Jazz since 3rd or 4th Grade (can't remember which exactly) when I would get a new Jazz Card every time I finished a book at school. I collected all of them and you bet I still have them.
My fantastic father invited us to Sunday's Game. How could we let that offer go?
It was a blast and they won!
3-1
Jazz are up!
Lindsey, myself, and Rodger
We are sporting our jerseys. Liz rockin' Williams and myself rockin' Millie, my fav.
Can't wait to for Wednesday's Game!
*Go Jazz*
Thanks Father, you truly are the best.

St. Georgie

We were off for a long weekend in St. George. It was a great break from our everyday routine. The sun felt soooooo nice!
I knew the trip was going to be great, because at work, I received these beauties from my Rodger. The note said, "Happy Vacation day!" How thoughtful and cute is this? He received a phone call soon after asking why did he do this? His response. You suck at road trips so I wanted to start it off right.
As you can see, I tried to be pleasant in the car.

Take note: I drove aaaaalllll the way home and what was Rodger doing.....sleeping!

We stayed with Cole and Gabs for 2 nights. We were very thankful for this and we had a blast with them. We did a lot of eating at yummy places, the boys went golfing while us girls went to the movie, The Last Song, loved it! We did some shopping, a GREAT trip to Mesquite for some game playing and just hanging out. It was so nice.

And of course we went shooting.

Ready to hunt some Rabbits?
Don't look too closely.
These are called Chizlers (?) Nasty little things.
We only got one rabbit. The boys boxed him up and shot him down. Good job Boys!
We went to Cole's Soccer game. That was a fun, yet cold, night.

The last 2 nights we stayed with Scott, Holly, and Jamie in Mesquite. The real reason we were heading down here was to see Jamie in her Dance Competition. I didn't have my camera with me during that, but that girl can dance. She has quite the spice and attitude, she is so cute!
We enjoyed the pool at our hotel. That water was so very cold. Rodger dared me to get all the way in the pool, to my shoulders. And I did it, can you believe that?! Mind over matter, totally works.
The last day before we headed out we did some golfing. It was at my favorite place, Oasis.

Pictures in the Golf Cart make for the best

See I told ya so:)
This was us 4 years ago in 2006. We were so cute.

These little things were all over the Golf Course. We were feeding them our chips.
Do you see why I love this place? This course is so beautiful.
Rodger wasn't having the best game, but you just wait and see what happens in a few:)

Scott, Holly, and Jamie
Look at that view. Beautiful.
Same spot 4 years ago. I was telling Scott how to use my camera, don't make fun.
Ok.....do you see this picture?! My Rodger got a hole in one!!!
And here is the proof.
The view of Hole #9. The distance was 155 yards.
His plaque from the Golf Course should be arriving soon. I'm so proud of him!
As I was running and screaming to congratulate him on his fantastic job, I came back to our cart and the the squirrels were eating Rodger's hot dog.
My kiss because I was so proud!
He has never seen a "1" next to his score.
As you may notice, my name is on the list, but I don't play golf. I wish I did. I always add myself to the score pad and I get one less score than Rodger because I'm cool like that. It's our fun little game:)
Jamie and I were having a blast together while they were putting. We would sit on the hill and take lots of pictures. Enjoy!

I can't explain how hard we were laughing when we saw this picture. It was our "serious" pose. We couldn't stop laughing.
And then Jamie "fluffed" and that made things even worse:)

She is such a cute girl.
We had so much fun on our getaway trip. We can't wait for the weather to get better up here. I miss the sun so much.
