Last Bit of Halloween

The Thursday before Halloween Weekend we went to Nightmare on 13th with Keat & Lydia.

It was Keat's first experience at a Haunted House and he didn't leave my arm.  At times, I felt bad for the little soul, and wanted to turn around for his sake.  He powered through and we had a great time.

 On Friday we went to Lagoon for Frightmares and for the last weekend of the season.  Michael and Rodger did the Catapult.  They were both a bit nervous, you could see it in their faces, but in the end they loved it.

We had Rodger's work party on Saturday and he couldn't wear his lame costume as my broom.  He had to be more dramatic.  Cute little cop.

Four Weekends

We have been very busy these last few weekends.

Weekend #1

 The weekend of September 30th-October 2nd we went to a cabin in Heber.

The cabin is Katie's grandparents.  Taylor and Katie were kind enough to invite us along with Joey and Amanda.

 It was such a pretty time of year, right when the leaves were starting to change over.  I LOVE fall.

We did a lot of laughing, ping pong, shopping, eating, and just hanging out.

It was a great time.  Thanks again for the invite! 

Weekend #2

 We went to Vegas the weekend of October 6th-9th.  We went with Braden/Chelsea, Wade/Sharidan, and Mike/Natalie. We mainly went to go and enjoy Blink 182 and My Chemical Romance.

 The concert was outside and we were not aware of this. My poor body was freezing with just a tank top. It was such a fun concert though! Rodger knew all the words to every song.....me on the other hand, knew about 5 songs.

 We went to Club Tao in The Venetian.  Yes, this would be the same club Ms. Kim Kardashian went to for her bachelorette party.  You should be jealous.  We had VIP passes and walked right on through everyone standing in line.  We felt pretty important.

The club was pure chaos!  I was getting so claustrophobic I wanted to die.  We got down and danced, and then left about an hour and a half later.  I couldn't take it anymore, they pack those places to the max.

 The view was gorgeous though.

Weekend #3

 It was Gabrielle's birthday.  It landed on Saturday October 15th.  I made a brilliant idea and thought we should head up to my dad's cabin in Eden.  We had four couples total and had a great time.

We played touch football, games, ping pong, watched a movie, hot tubed, made a birthday cake, and relaxed.

 It was a great weekend.  Glad I could celebrate your birth, Gabs.

Weekend #4

Friday, October 21st we were having a Halloween Party at our house.  It was with my friends from high school and their husbands.  I have the BEST husband ever, see reason why below.

I leave the following "To Do" List Friday morning for Rodger to complete.

I leave for work.

I come home to a beautiful freshly mowed front & back lawn, and clean clean home.

For the record, I have never done this request in our marriage before.

Anyways, he really is a sweet, caring, helpful, loving boy.  Thanks babe, you rock and roll.

 We were quite lazy this year with our Halloween costumes.

We played a bundle of fun games.  As you can see above, we played the "Donut" Game.

 Abbie and Rodger won.  Only because they had the small blueberry donuts.

I LOVE my friends.  I'm glad we could all find a time to get together to play.  Next up will probably be a Christmas Party, and it'll be here sooner than we know it.

This last weekend I spent a lot of time with the new, Charley.  She is seriously so sweet and it gives me the itch to want one....but then I realize how much I love my life right now, and I'm not ready quite yet.

As you can see from above, we have been very busy, not only with personal life but with work as well.  I can't even breathe when I'm at work, but I am not complaining.  I love it.  Rodger's work has slowed down a bit, due to school beginning, but it is picking right back up.  We are blessed with such good jobs, and most importantly, ones that we love.

Life is very good.

Charley Mae Sparks

Charley Mae Sparks is here and she is perfect!

She was born, by her beautiful mother, Ashley, on 10/19/2011 at 6:33pm.

She weighed 7 lbs and is 19 1/2 inches long.

I love her already!
I went to see her only a good hour or so after she was born. All she wanted to do was eat.

I LOVE being an aunt. Welcome to the world Charley Pooh. I love you dearly.

The Dirty Dash

Lizzy, Gabrielle, and I decided to get dirty!
While driving to work one day I noticed the Billboard for the Dirty Dash. I had to look into it. I begged Rodger to do it with me, his response, "I'll do it if YOU really want me to, but I really don't want to do it." Fine. I ended up having a great time with these two ladies and got the best of both worlds-my own camera man, Rodger.

The Dirty Dash is known for people dressing up in crazy costumes. We decided to go with the overalls/sport bras look, thanks to Lindsey. We looked pretty cute.

It was located in Midway, Utah at Solider Hollow on Saturday September 24th. It was the perfect day. A bit chilly at first but once we started running, it was the right temperature.

This was my first 10K-6.2 miles.

Our start time was 10:00. We were literally at the start of the line debating if this was a good idea or not. We looked back at the 75 or so people behind us and then looked forward at the muddy hill we had to start off at. We thought we were going to get trampled.

Ready....Set....Go! And we were off! This was by far the hardest part, it was so slippery and muddy you would slide everywhere (Notice Gabs).

I had such a good time. I could have done it 3 more times.

I loved my team members.

There were about 15-20 different obstacles. This was the big slide. Other obstacles included:
-Running over hay bales.
-Sliding down mud pits.
-Using rope up a muddy hill
-Climbing through long tubes
-Pulling yourself up over walls (we climbed under most)
-Swimming through a muddy lake
-Running through tires
-Balancing beams
-Rope Swing
-The final mud pit

My all time favorite picture. Just take a gander at Gabs face. And Lizzy-can you even tell that that is her? And myself just enjoying myself completely. Priceless!

And then we did some tackling for the crowd.

I tried to tackle Lindsey, lost my balance, and she threw me over her side. Don't worry, the very first obstacle I threw her down to the ground. It was perfect and very unexpected on her part.

We finished in 1 hour and 20 minutes. Cole was explaining to us before the race that he guaranteed we would take at least 3 hours to complete. I kept telling him he is crazy, who does he think we are? The whole time I noticed we were passing people that started at 9:20...9:40...and so on. I knew we were making great time. Boy did we prove him wrong!

A couple of different times Lizzy and I kept mentioning how we wished Chelsea and Ashley were with us. Next year, right?! Please don't be pregnant.

The boys were GREAT supporters. We couldn't have done it without them.

They were prepared with our towels, drinks, and smiles.

The worst part....the cold, freezing, unbearable showers afterwards. We should have paid the $4 for hot showers. Note to self for next time. Also to bring Q-tips.
I can't wait for next year. It honestly was so much fun.
P.S. The shirts they gave out for participating in the race were adorable too-always a plus.

P.P.S. After I got out of the shower at home, Rodger says "I really wish I was the one to clean out your ears." I said, "Go for it." And he did. He loves things like that. Silly boy.
