Our Thanksgiving Weekend

Oh, hello. We are back and are alive and well. I know it has been a long time and I am sorry for that. We have been busy getting our home together and adjusting to the change. We are pretty much all set up, except for a few things. We need to hang a few more pictures and get the office painted and set up. Other than that, it looks like home and we couldn't be more happy.
We had a great Thanksgiving and mixed in a lot of other activities all weekend.
We started off Thanksgiving Day morning at 10:00 sharp for Bowling at the new Boondocks. Love it! The place is great and I can't wait to enjoy it more. We had both of our families come. It has kinda been a tradition in my family to go bowling on Thanksgiving. I couldn't let that slide by this year, it is too fun.
Above is my mom, Keat, Joe, Isaac, and Chels.
Look how adorable Chels looks! Due in March. I seriously can't wait for the little girl.
Jeff, Amber, Scott, and Holly.
Amber too is pregnant and due in March. They are having a little boy! We can't wait for this day either. We're so excited to be a new aunt and uncle.
Cindy (Rodger's mom), Rodger, Me, Lando, and Lindsey.
We got the lovely time to spend with Rodger's mom while she was in town. She has also been staying with us all weekend. It has been fun.

There's Amber's cute belly:)
Alyssa and Jamie pictured above as well.
Bowling was a blast and my new favorite place to bowl is now Boondocks. They have couches you sit on and huge screens with music videos playing in front of you. It is a really cool place. I can't wait to Mini Golf when the weather gets better.
We had Thanksgiving dinner at our place. Yes, you heard me right. But it went just great. I wasn't stressed and I was plenty prepared. I did a good job if you ask me:) It was Scott, Holly, Cindy, Alyssa, and Jamie. Rachel and Dayton came over after for Dessert and games.
I did a cute thing around the dinner table. I had 3 different colors of leaves under our plates. If your color match with another, you had to say something you are grateful for, for that person. There were some nice things said about everyone. I'm grateful for too many things this year, it has been such a good year.
Look at this pie Alyssa made! Isn't it wonderful?
I had to throw this picture in. Cole and Gabs were in town for the weekend. We hung out with them as much as we could. This was Wednesday night. Notice the TIME on the clock? Yes....this is what happens when we hang out with them. Time doesn't exist. Cole was getting pretty serious with his signing. Oh and Rodger broke our drum sticks because he was a little too into it also.
Rockin' out after our meal.

Friday Morning aka Black Friday we woke up at 5:00 AM. I can't remember the last time I was up at that unnecessary hour. We went shopping with Cole and Gabs. I swear the deals sucked this year. We bought a movie and new drum sticks. That's it. The highlight was eating breakfast. I was pretty tired the rest of the day and only got an hour nap.
That night we went to see the lights at Temple Square. We went with Jeff, Amber, and Cindy.

They were pretty and fun:)
Saturday out came the Christmas Tree! My favorite. I wish I could leave it up year round.
Later that night we had friends over for dinner and then Gingerbread Houses. This is cute little Porter (Ben and Lindsay's boy). He's getting big!

Mike and Abbie
Cole and Gabrielle
Ben and Linds (unfinished house, baby duty)
Myself and the creep.
We had a great weekend and I'm sad it's over. We do have something to look forward to though in two weeks......Hello Cruise! We can't wait.
Love to all and Happy Thanksgiving.

Our First Home Goodbyes

It was a sad day saying goodbye to our first home we owned and lived together in for the 1st time. We closed and signed papers on Wednesday the 28th. We didn't have to be out until Saturday the 31st in the morning, thanks to the kind new owners, they gave us extra time. It was a lot of work getting everything packed and ready. I didn't know we had so much stuff!! It doesn't seem like it until it all has to go into boxes.
Thursday came and we were supposed to close on our new home. It never happened. The appraiser was late and so that held up some time. When this happened, we knew we wouldn't fund until Monday because it takes an extra day and Thursday was the last day to close to be able to move before the weekend. We were bummed.
Rodger and Kam started loading up the truck on Friday. Thanks to Kam's dads business, we didn't have to rent a truck. That was a huge help because this way we kept all our belongings in the truck over the weekend until Monday afternoon came. We were extremely glad with this idea, that way we didn't have to unload and load the truck twice. My mom, Lindsey, Kam, Jacki and Kevin were a HUGE part in helping us pack and move out. We really appreciate them so much. Thank you, thank you, and thank you!

Of course we had to get a picture one last time:(
Kissing it goodbye, we've LOVED you!
...Packing sorta blows...
Could you tell I was a little nervous for my fragile belongings?
The last night packing....we were tired and ready for it to be DONE!
Saturday morning we did a few more loads and made the place extra fresh for the new owners. We went and got balloons and a gift card to congratulate them on their 1st home! While waiting inside the home, it was sad to look at it empty and to know this is the last time we will be in it. I made Rodger give me a full length body hug. You lay on the floor while the other lays on top of you and you, well...hug. We've had many of those hugs right there in that house and I needed one more. They came and we gave them the keys and a few run downs of the place. As soon as we got in the car, Rodger said he didn't want to leave. I told him I could tell. He went through every room, explaining noticeable things. It was very cute to watch him and thinking back on it now makes me want to cry. No tears were shed, although if we would have let them come, they would have very easily.
I thanked Rodger for providing our first home for us while he was giving me our full length body hug. I kissed him and said how much he means to me. I truly do love this man who cares so much about me. Thank you Rodger for a wonderful 1st home.
Over the weekend, we stayed with my dad at his house. It was very convenient and such a huge help to be able to stay there. It was a hard weekend knowing that I could have been at the new home unloading and making it our home, but it was a nice and relaxing weekend.
Monday came and something went wrong with the final papers. The wrong zip code got printed on the papers we signed on Friday. We had to resign all those papers again, but I was in heaven because I love to sign my name, what girl doesn't?! Finally at 4:00 Rodger got the call and it funded. We went to our new home right away to get the keys and along came the truck and all the helpers. Thank you to my mom, Lindsey, Kam, Jacki/Kevin, Scott, and Holly for helping us load everything in. Thank you to Alicia who tried to be there and Ashley for coming at the end (of course) and taking our garbage can out:) We really appreciate our family and friends for all their kind help.
Awesome Helpers! Lindsey and my mom.
The Strong Men. Kam, Scott, and Rodger.
We LOVE our new home, just love it! Things couldn't have worked out better. We are still making it our own and it couldn't be more fun.
Tonight Rodger is holding a "House Warming Hold'em" with all his Poker friends.
I'm such a nice wife, seriously.
Pictures will come soon.
