I HEART Reading

If you enjoyed these fantastic books......

You might want to consider these.....
The picture isn't too great. The author is a mother and daughter named P.C. Cast and Kristen Cast. The first book is called Marked, then Betrayed, and the 3rd is Chosen. I love them and can't stop reading. These books tend to have some bad parts and some swearing but if your like me I just read over the nasty words and don't think twice about them. If you're ok with this then I would recommend these. I got them just a week ago and I've read both the 1st and 2nd and onto the 3rd today. The 4th comes out this fall.
I gave Rodger quite a laugh when he walked into our bedroom to find this little piece of heaven.

St. George

Once we got to St. George we went and played some golf out in the hot sun (pictures below). We then went to dinner and at 8:00 we headed over to the Movie Theatre for the 10:00 showing for DARK KNIGHT. We were 2nd in line and thankfully I remembered to bring some cards and we played many games for those two hours. The movie was fantastic and even though it was 2 and 1/2 hours long, I didn't want it to end. Saturday we hung out at the pool but not for long because of the heat. We then went to the Outlets and the Mall and did a little shopping. It was just too hot outside so we went back to our room and read some new books we got. We then went to Outback because one of my good old friends works there. Luckily she was there and she waited on us. I miss her and she even is going to come down and take a day of shopping here in Vegas. I can't wait. We went to Tuacahn for Les Miserables and it was really good. Once again we were dying of heat and we left halfway through the show. We now are here in Las Vegas and I'll post some pictures later on.
On our way to beautiful St. George. Rodger drove the whole time and I slept a little bit and then we sang the rest of the time. I love singing in the car with Rodger, one of my favorite times together. He's great.
We went to the Red Hills Golf Course and it was beautiful.
I was sweating quite a bit...about 110 degrees.
Rodger loves golf....and I'm so nice to let him enjoy it :)

Happy 17th Birthday Liz!

Lindsey is such a happy, entertaining, funny, crazy, and loving girl. I don't know what it would be like with out her. She's fantastic and I love her very much. I hope you have a great day Linds! I'm sorry Rodg and I aren't there to share the ENTIRE day with you.
*We woke her up @ 9:00 this morning with a big balloon and some Starburst to tell her that we're going to breakfast. Once we were done, Rodger and I left for St. George & Vegas for his Real Estate Convention.
As you can see, Lindsey and I are close. She's been the one sister I've never really hated at a certain time in my life.......seriously though (except for sweet Caroline and Ava).
Yesterday we all went boating with my dad because this is one thing Lindsey loves. We had a good time. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIZ, RODGER AND I LOVE YOU!

House Updates

Isn't this beautiful? This is a built-in cabinet that WAS in our dining room. Unfortunately now it's not. See below.
Our scary stairs with such a bad drop off. Notice the top of the picture, no head room when going down the stairs.
BEFORE!
During the process. No stairs-this scared me!
This is Jim who did all the work and such a nice job. This is a picture at the top of the stairs. If you look straight across (that is where the built-in was on the other side of the wall) here he had to cut out into the floor to make head room to walk down the stairs.
Rodger even got to have some of the fun.
AFTER! Now notice the head room, plenty!
The new regular stairs. Now Rodger doesn't have to duck his head on the way down.
Once the wall was patched up and waiting for the cabinet to be finished, this is what we got to look at for too long!
The finished piece! Beautiful. It's too bad when we do move we can't take this with us. It's built into the wall, because of the above picture, if it was gone, that's what it would look like.
The front view.
Doing little house updates like this are: messy, long, stressful, but worth it in the end. I really miss my cute built-in, but this new cabinet gives us more storage and matched perfect with our dining room set. We're starting a new project today......I will post once it's complete-I'm excited for this one.

The Big 21

That's right, he's now an adult and already married. Rodger's birthday was on Saturday July 12th and he turned the big 21! We went camping with his mom and her boyfriend that Thursday and Friday beforehand to celebrate Cindy's birthday too. They are just two days apart. It was mostly a golf trip with sleeping in a tent trailor (so there's the camping part). He had a blast then because he was playing so well and the course was beautiful. I even hit a few great shots and I'm going to try and learn some more. On his birthday we woke up, I made him breakfast and then we opened his presents. He was pretty spoiled by me. He got: a popcorn popper with kernals, his favorite candy, luggage, pictures of us to hang over our bed saying that I'm the "Beauty" and he is the "Beast" I'm clever, and also ROCK BAND for the Wii!!! Now this has been some fun. We've enjoyed it extremely much.
Rodger was also spoliled by others. His dad and Holly gave him money, his mom gave him golf balls and special tees, my mom got him a wallet, new game, and a favorite childhood book that he loves, Chels & the 3 boys got him a shirt, Ash actually got him a present (interesting) and it was a movie, and Linds got him a hat. Throughout the rest of the day we went to lunch with my family, went golfing up at Wolf Creek thanks to my dad, went and visited the twins, then Rodger had to show my moms house (poor thing had to work on his birth, but not too long), and then we swam at my moms house for some night swimming.
I love Rodger so much and I couldn't be happier. We get a long so well and things couldn't be better. I hope he knows how much he means to me and what an example he is. He provides for our little family (along with some help from me) and I appreciate it so much because he is such a hard worker. He deserves the best and he has it----ME! Seriously though, we're both so lucky. Happy 21st birthday baby bear. I love you.
MOST IMPORTANTLY HE MAKES ME LAUGH

My Favorite Holiday

Our beautiful flag on our back porch, notice my cute flower pot too:)
Rodger looks extremely scary in this picture, he recently just woke up. We went over to his parents Neighborhoood Breakfast @ 8:00 for the 4th. He was a little tired.
We always enjoy Kaysville City's 4th of July Parade usually sitting in the same spot every year.
The candy chaser's. They got a tons of candy this year!
Little Jamie in the parade (Rodger's little sister). She was very excited to be in the Parade, especially if Keaton was there watching her. She has a little crush on him.
My delicious cupcakes that I made for our Swimming/BBQ Party after the Parade. I was going to decorate them in red, white, and blue but food coloring is expensive and I didn't want to go to the store.
The pool party
Getting ready to watch Kaysville's firework show.
And the fireworks were great.
We had a great 4th of July and I can't wait for the next one. It was good seeing everyone and hope to see you soon!

Camping with the Rigby's/Hatch's

We went camping in Coalville this last weekend. We meant Jacki and Kev at their usual place and we had a great time. We only stayed up one night (Friday-Saturday). It was short, but extremely fun. Thanks to Jack and Kev for a great weekend. Maddie and Chloe were so much fun to hang out with and so adorable. Something funny Chloe said was when Rodger knocked down our tent in the morning while others were inside. I said something like, "Rodger your an idiot." Chloe then told me, "Well if he is an idiot, why don't you just stop hanging out with him and throw your ring away!" It was so funny. We all know I would never stop hanging out with Rodger, I love him too much. Sorry Chloe.
I had butterflies in my basket. It was scary getting into the river because further down it got much faster but it was totally worth it. We had a great time.
My mom, Rodg, and I. Linds and Landon were way ahead. The 3 of us had a great time, laughing our heads off. If it weren't for Landon I would have gone down the river all by myself. We were coming up to the end where we were supposed to get off. Rodger lets go of my mom and I saying, "Every man for himself." Me, being the scared and slightly incapable of rowing myself to the other side of the river, couldn't. Landon swam out, grabbed me and saved me. Thanks Landon!
Sweet little Chloe wanted to go on the river. Therefore Rodger, Landon, and Liz helped her out. She loved it. She only went on the slow part.
The boys
Behind us is our beautiful tent we slept in, while the Rigby's/Hatch's enjoyed their "Hotels" No worries, we enjoyed our tent.
