The Parentals Are 50!

Both of my parents turned the big 50 within 11 days of each other. May I just say I have been a stress ball? Too bad they are divorced or else it would have been much easier on my part:). I'm just kidding, but seriously.
Let's begin with my Mother's. June 14th aka Flag Day.
We originally had plans for a Surprise Party at Pineview Lake the Saturday before her birthday. Dave was going to bring up his boat and everyone would come to have a picnic/day at the beach. Since the weather was awful all throughout May and half of June, that got canceled. We made new plans for the Surprise Party @ Nicholas Park.
Thanks to Joe and Chels, we got this awesome sign. We were smart enough to not include personal names so we could use it again.
Of course we had to decorate in red, white, and blue since it's also Flag Day.

As always, my yummy cupcakes.

The gifts. Dave was trying to be the best "soon-to-be" son-in-law and brought the flowers for her. She loved them, good job Dave.

She thought she was going to my house for dinner. Ashley and Lindsey put the blindfold on her and said, "Don't ask questions." They drove around the block to try and trick her, since the park location was down the street from her house. She was completely surprised!

Her face soon after she saw all of us yelling "Surprise!"

Whipping the tears away. Some of us voted whether or not she would cry. I lost that bet.I made up a game, of course. Joan's Gym. Cute, huh?!
We formed 2 lines and whichever team completed the rotations first, won!

The other game was Questions about Joan. Ashley got the most correct and won a jar of peanut butter! Since, that is my mother's favorite.
Everyone playing the game. It went pretty fast. I should have thought that part out.
The best was watching Tony do the Jump Rope. I guess that's what you get when you buy the Jump Rope from Dollar Tree.
The Quiz Game.
Who could forget Sarah Sue?

Pretty much everyone made it! Thanks for all of those that came. It meant the world to my mom and us.

The Family

The Girls

The Birthday Girl whom I love dearly.

Here she is opening up her gift. She asked me before opening it up, "Is this going to make me cry." I just shrug my shoulders, when really I knew she would. She couldn't make it through the book, the tears wouldn't stop.

It is a Photobook, inside is:
-Childhood Years
-Teenage Years
-Mission Years
-Every Child had 4 pages showing baby/childhood pictures/more recent pictures and our favorites about them.
-Random pictures
-On the back cover was a picture of Annie and it read, "P.S. You're Old and Annie loves you too."

I cannot begin to tell you how long this took. My life for about 2 weeks consisted of work (which is 80% of my time in front of a computer) and then I would come home and sit in front of my home computer to work on this. There were many tears, lots of stress, laughs, and lots of work. My sisters helped, but lets be honest, I did the most. Don't get me wrong, I offered to do it, it was my idea, and I would do it over again if I had too. I know it means the world to my parents and they both love it so much. Boy am I glad (and so is Rodger, who heard so much drama about it).
The good sports
Can you tell Rodgie loves his new motorcycle? He makes excuses to ride it everywhere. Supposedly there wasn't enough room in my car to the party, because I had a lot of stuff, so Rodger says, "It's ok, I'll just take my motorcycle." Like it's an inconvenience, when it's not. Silly soul.

Happy Birthday Mom! I hope you had the best day ever because you deserve every bit of it. I love you very much. And you look great for 50!

And now onto......

Father's 50th! June 25th.

First off, I had his office decorated at work. I also had about 20 signs throughout the office of a baby picture, a 16 years old picture, and about a 30 year old picture of him with a full beard. It read, Guess Who is 50?! And the hints were:
-He LOVES Golf
-Has 6 beautiful daughters :)
-He LOVES Golf
He comes into the office shaking his head. Our conversation goes as follows:
Dad: "Cortney, you know I don't like stuff like this."
Me: "Yes, I know."
Dad: "But you did it anyway."
And I just shake my head yes.
Hahaha, got ya!

We had his party at Heritage Park in Farmington. Same idea as my mothers.

He really didn't like getting blind folded. He hates attention. He always likes to play it cool.

SURPRISE!

I think both my parents age pretty well, there is some luck for me in the future!

We played Brad's Bogeys and Birdies

Who ever got closer to the blown up pictures of Bradley, won! Nobody really won, it was kinda really hot which made people not interested.

We had a Quiz Game too. Grandma got the most correct and won some candy!

Poor Sarah was hot, but Chels and her look super cute!

Daddy's Little Girls. They made him cute birthday cards.

Angela and the girls got him underwear. He loved it, sorta:)

...Priceless...

Rodger loves Sarah and Sarah loves him.

I'm pretty sure he loved his Photobook as well, he LOVES pictures of himself.

The company I used, MyPublisher.com was really good. I got a special coupon of Buy 1 Get 1 Free. I got a 2nd copy of my dads to give to my grandparents, they loved it! I heard a number of thank yous coming from them. I'm glad that worked out so nice.

His Children/First Grandchild

Most everyone that came.

Angela and the girls.

My dad with his parents. My cute grandpa wanted to have the Photobook in the picture, that's how much they love it.

And here I am. HOT (right after we packed up from my dad's party) and VERY stress free now that June is over with. Bring on Summer.

Happy Birthday to you Father! I hope your day was perfect, because you deserve it. Thanks for all you do, I love you!

Funny Story: A few weeks ago, Keaton says. "Cortney, don't take this the wrong way, but you remind me of Angela from The Office. You just really like to plan things. But don't worry, you don't act like her or have the same personality."

Thanks Keat:) That's exactly what I'm shooting for.
