Busy, Busy, and Busy

Hello again. Rodg and I have been very busy. We spent all day (morning to midnight) Friday and Saturday working on the house. It was fun, stressful, and made us tired. We are about done with everything. The carpets are getting cleaned this Wednesday and our furniture will be here as early as this weekend or next week. We're excited and so ready to move in! We can't wait. Some of the things we've done to the house are as follows:
*Painted every room
*Re-painted all the trim throughout the entire house (along the floors, windows, and around the doors)
*Re-furbished the door handles (scraped all the paint off of them)
*Painted all the doors
*Replaced all the light fixtures
*Scraped "cottage cheese" off 3 of the major ceilings and painted
*Tiled the front entry way (Rodg's dad and step mom did most the work)
*Painted inside all the kitchen cupboards and sides (what a pain)
*Replaced all the light switches and plugs
*And much prepreation work that had to go along with it, plus cleaning.....
We painted a ton and never want to do it again. It was fun to be able to do this all together. We had much help. Rodger's mom helped us the most, thank you! Also Scott and Holly (Rodg's dad and step mom), my mom, Lindsey, and my dad. Thanks a bunch. It's looking fantastic and has kinda been our life for a few months. But now it's time for the fun stuff. Cleaning it up to make it look beautiful, and my favorite, decorating!!!
I just want Rodger to know how much I appreciate him and thanks for putting up with me. I can be a pain sometimes, because not only are we planning a wedding, but re-creating our first house. Lots of stress. But there is no one I would rather do it with. I love him so very much. It's time to get married and we need a break....cannot wait for the honeymoon, for many reasons:). Hope all is well and enjoy your day, actually night.

Babysitting

This is Rodg and Caroline

This picture shows how Rodg & I did not so good of a job blowing out their hair (their bangs wouldn't stop touching their faces:)) But they do look adorable.

Here is their little corner where they would pick out a book to bring over to me to read. They even sat on the bottom shelf to make a little seat. Even though their heads couldn't quite fit.

Rodger and I a number of times have babysat my twin little sisters. Their names are Caroline & Ava. They will be 2 years old in April and as you can see are adorable. We usually babysit them on a weekend. We absolutely love it! Each time we go, there is something new they can do. This time (just this past Saturday) we found that they love to read. I would be sitting on the couch and each one would continue to keep bringing me books left and right. Caroline would get more books read than Ava because cute little Ava would push the book on the floor, crawl a little bit, then push the book further. She still hasn't walked on a regular basis. She could totally do it, but shows no interest.
After they ate dinner we got them in the bath. They are so happy and you can tell just love life. They scream (in a happy way) at the top of their lungs, and then Rodger would scream back. They would just stare at him and then once they realized what just happened, they would scream again. It was a very exciting bathtub experience.
We then had to blow dry there hair out. They have naturally curly hair and so it's pretty easy to style. As you can tell, Rodg and I had some difficulties because their bangs were in there face while trying to read and watch TV. They love TV, can't get enough of it. Their mom, Angela feels like she shouldn't let them watch TV, but they watch the educational channels and actually learn a lot. Up above are some pictures of our exciting night!

Our House

Here is our cute house that I absolutely love. It's in Kaysville.

This picture shows the huge trees we have around our house. The yard is big and I'm excited for the yardwork!!!

This is my cute little Rodg, excited to paint. He's hilarious. We've worked many hours at this house. Painted most every room in the house, except the bathroom and kitchen. I'll post the final pictures once we are done which is very soon because this week we should be getting our furniture, so we have to be done!

The Before and After (BOTH BEAUTIFUL)

The picture with my beautiful pink finger nails is what the ring looked like when Rodger gave it to me. He picked out the diamond and then together we went and picked out the setting. We did good, I think.

First Blog Ever

Rodger and I are getting married on February 16, 2008. We are very excited and it's been a long time coming. Although we're young, we most definitely are in love and there is nothing I would want more. He's quite amazing and if you know him, you'd understand.
I wanted to start this blog because we soon are going to be beginning a whole new life. I wanted friends and family to be able to see what's going on. This is something that will be very fun to have and share and I'm very excited to start. I just hope I can continue to blog and not leave anyone hanging.
I'll start with the proposal. We booked a vacation to go to Rodger's grandmas house in Long Beach, California. His dad and step-mom went with us. It was the weekend of my 20th birthday. On my actual birthday we went to breakfast that morning, and then went on a helicopter ride to Catilina Island. It was quite the experience. I loved it very much. We shopped and had tours of the place. We also went on a glass bottom boat tour and saw many fish. It sorta made me sick, but I dealt with it and survived. We headed back on the helicopter and went home to get ready. We then went to a Dodger's baseball game. We went to a total of 3 that trip and they were very fun and exciting. Rodger wasn't acting himself, starting once we were at the game. I asked what was wrong and he would just blame it on his stomach, which is usually what really is bugging him. Once we got back to his grandmas beach house, it's funny because I (being the one who would of loved to go to bed since it was around 11:30 that night) suggested that we go for a walk on the beach. So we started walking and talking, holding hands, and I myself was loving the moment. We stopped at a lifeguard house and we were frezzing, no shoes on. We were just hugging and talking and I was saying thank you so very much for the best birthday, things like that:). I then said, what is wrong, you're heart is pounding very hard. Once, again he blamed it on the stomach and that he was cold. He then asked, so did you have a good birthday, etc. I said yes it was the best. He said would there be anything that would of made it better.....No? He then started to knell down on his knee and said, what about this? And off he went, pulling out the box and opening it up. "Cortney, will you marry me?" I believe at first I said, "are you sure" and he said of course I am. I started hugging him and was getting very excited. He let me hug him for awhile and then said, can I get up now (he was still on his knees) And then he put the ring on my finger and it sparkled so bright. It was gorgeous.
There you have it. I'm going to leave you with another surprise. We went back to the house and he said, I have one more thing for you. He handed me a card. Inside was the cutest card in the world saying I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you, I love you so very much. Not only was that great. But then there was a piece of paper with a picture of the cutest house on it saying "OUR HOUSE" What a day.
So that I don't continue to bore you more (or maybe it's just myself reading this, probably) I'll post later about the progress of the house and post some pictures!!!
