Little Visitors

We are lucky enough to have a great backyard. Our actual yard isn't very big, but it sure seems like it with the Wetlands behind us. It makes for a great view. We've had these little friends for a few months now. I've always felt bad for the poor things suffering through the cold snow, but I guess they are used to it.
They normally have a fence around them by their barn, but just a few days ago that has been removed. They now roam anywhere.
Yesterday they were right up close to our fence line. There are about 10 of them. 7 adults and 3 babies.
Ha, this picture just cracks me right up. Look at his little face.
And here are the little babies.
We have a gate that goes out into this field. Davis County owns the land and they put a lock up on our gate, therefore we can't get out. We're hoping it is just because these friends are currently here. I hope we can have access to it in the Spring/Summer because there is a black gravel trail around the whole area. It would be a great walk/run path.
In the meantime, I've enjoyed looking out my windows to see how they are doing.
The best is when they are fighting:)

The Good & The Bad

Today was a good and a bad day. Let's start with the good. Rodger has been waking up early, and I mean early, to go to the gym in the morning with a buddy. He gets up at 5:30 AM. Bless his soul. I, on the other hand, am not a morning person. This is why I work out after work:) Anyways, this particular morning as I was half asleep laying in bed, I asked if he would quickly make me a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich. He has a few extra minutes in the morning before he heads off to work, so I was hoping he would do it. I get to work and this is what I open.
Baby's PB & J with the date so nicely written on the Zip Lock Bag.
Frito's for Princess.
He also packed me 2 Cutie Oranges.
I couldn't help but smile when I saw this.
He quickly received a very kind text message from his wife.

Later this evening we had the Bishopric come over for a brief minute. Rodger and I are lucky enough to get to teach together in the Primary! We will be teaching the 7 year olds. I can't wait.

Ok, its time for the bad. And this is bad. My poor little Anne babe got hurt. She is my moms dog (AKA my baby). She was jumping up to get into Lindsey's car to go for a ride and she smacked right into the door. She immediately fell to the floor and started crying. Her eye was bruised instantly and was popping out.
My mom and Linds took her to the Vet right after it happened.
Poor little thing got her eye stitched up.
She's so cute.
She also has to wear the 'Cone' around her head. This is so she won't scratch her eye or bug it. She tends to run into things while walking because she can't see, nor is she used to the Cone. She will be getting her stitches out Saturday and we're hoping she won't be blind in that eye. The Vet says she has about a 50/50 chance. I hope she heals nicely.
I love you Annie.
Get better soon, real soon.

Our Love Weekend

Two weekends in February we went to Wendover for some concerts with Scott & Holly. Our first was America. I hardly knew any of the songs, only about 3, but it was still fun. Amber and Jeff joined us too.
The other was Richard Marx. Ha, he was actually really entertaining! I knew a lot more of his songs. We go to 311 in March. It's actually really fun going to concerts there.

Here we are days before our big day preparing away! Do you spot Annie in the background? Update: She is doing great. She got her eye unstitched and she is not blind! Yay!

Walking to the Temple on our Wedding Day. Do we look nervous?! We were, just a tad.
It was a MAGICAL day. I couldn't have asked for anything better.
Our Honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico was the best trip I've ever been on. We can't wait to go back to the same Resort some day. We were playing Mini Golf here.

*********************************************
Over the Weekend of Valentines we went to Las Vegas! We left Saturday morning and returned Tuesday night. Tuesday was our actual Anniversary.
Here we are on the plane about to take off!
We stayed at the Wynn's Encore.
Our room was great.
Pretty spacious. We had plenty of room for company. And that's just what we had, company! It turned out Tony and Jessica were headed down to Mesquite that same weekend. Jess got talked into staying 1 more night (she had a hard time leaving her 2 little girls) and they stayed with us Saturday night. We had a blast with them.
We did a lot, I mean A LOT of walking. Isn't that what you do when in Vegas? All of our feet were very sore. Rodger won though, his feet were killing him. He had quite the bruises to show for it.
Our Famous Picture spot inside The Venetian.

Watching the fountains at the Bellagio. We are making the same face, priceless.
We ate at soooooo many good restaurants. Some of our favorites:
The Grand Lux Cafe
Raw (A Sushi Place)
Pictured: Rodger, Jessica (my cousin), and her husband Tony.
The weather was so nice. It got close to 70*. We hit the pool a few times. We loved hanging out on the big circle layout cushions.
We had a fun time playing one of our favorite card games, Wizard. I could have stayed out there doing just that with Rodger forever.

Do you see how adorable he is?
I had such a blast with my babes bear. We have a lot of fun together.

We rocked it at the Blackjack table, our favorite, not gonna lie.
We hit the 'spin' on the Wheel of Fortune Game right before our plane was going take off in the Airport. We hit the 1000. We both screamed. It was very exciting for us! It was a 25 cent machine, but still!
Here we are on our actual Anniversary Day. 2 whole years!
I couldn't be more happy.

Crafty Me

Look what I did! Now I most definitely couldn't have done it without my mothers helping hand. I wanted to do something memorable for Sarah Belle. Side Note: I don't know why I call her Sarah Belle, her middle name is going to be Elizabeth, I just believe it flows well. Hopefully Button's doesn't hate me for it.

Anywho, I got frustrated at times when making this blanket. I even wanted to give up. It finally made sense (we couldn't get the material in a perfect square) and I pulled it off. I do like to sew, but the little things make me not want to continue to make it a habit:) It's fun every now and then.

What I made is the blanket Chels and I are holding. My mom made this adorable quilt for Sarah that she is holding. It took her a lot of time. She has done about 10 million other things handmade for Sarah. Can you tell Sarah is my moms first grandchild? Technically she isn't the first, because of Keaton and Isaac, but we didn't know them when they were about to pop out.

This was taken at her shower thrown by Jacki and girls.
I hope little Sarah will enjoy cuddling up to it soon! I can't wait to hold the precious little thing when she comes.

The Little Things

As Rodger and I were having a lazy night and watching "Biggest Loser" (one of our many favorites, in fact, we have too many favorites) he had me laughing soooo very hard. I was laughing for some reason that I can't seem to remember and all the sudden he goes,
"That's it, I know what you look like, you look like a Shark!"
He says when I laugh, my nose gets big and wide and I look like a shark!
Well thanks babe, that's what every girl wants to hear.
A few moments later I have his I-to-the-Phone in my face.
This is what I saw.

In an all serious tone he says, "What are you laughing at, I'm only showing you a mirror."
I was laughing so hard my freaking Abs were killing me. I don't know if it was a mix of rewinding American Idol, seriously 10 times over and over to see Mr. "Holla" again or if I knew deep down inside Rodger is absolutely right. I do kinda look like a Shark.
Welp Rodg Bear, at least I don't look like a big mixture of these!

Oh Rodgie how I love you and our life. The "Little Things" truly are the best.

A Twinster Weekend

Rodgie and I were lucky enough to watch the twins this past weekend. I picked them up after work on Friday and we had them until Monday morning. It was fun, lots of work, sometimes stressful, but a good time. They are dolls.
The first thing they wanted to do when we got to our house was "Rock Out." Do you see how into it they are? Caroline would bend her legs and get down low, bite her lip, and go crazy with her fingers. Then there is Ava who dips her shoulder and sings away. Adorable. They did this plenty of times throughout the weekend. I would turn the radio on and they would "Rock Out." I joined them a few times, they liked it when I sung. Caroline says, "Cortney, you have a lot of favorite songs." Very true, Caroline, very true.
That Friday night we went out to Caroline's favorite restaurant, Olive Garden. Then off to Target to have the girls pick out a gift for little Sarah for Chelsea's baby shower Saturday.

Rodger and I were definitely not used to the early weekend mornings. They would wake up about 6:30 to 7:30. It was fun though, they would come crawl into bed with us and we would watch Cartoons before breakfast time. We still have a few "tickle tags" left in our bed. Haha, that's a whole other story.

Saturday morning was a busy one. We woke up early and watched a movie. Watching a movie can be difficult at times. We have to find one that has princesses in it and superheros. Its funny how different they both are. After the movie it was time to get the girls and myself ready for Chelsea's baby shower at 11:00. Sorry no pictures from that event. It was fun though and Sarah is going to love her gifts from the girls. Ava picked out some cute Binky's and Caroline got her a toy duck.

We had quite the adventure after the shower. Since I was using Angela's car all weekend, we got locked out of the house. I didn't have my car keys with the house key on it or my garage door opener. Rodger was at a store in Ogden and didn't have phone service. We finally got ahold of him and he was coming home as fast as he could. Luckily since it was close to 2, their nap time, they feel asleep on the way home. They even stayed asleep when we carried them into bed.

Ava isn't wearing her leggings because she had a little potty accident at Chelseas. I was so nervous another accident was going to happen while they were in their car seats fast asleep, but we were lucky!

Here I am, just waiting away in the car for Rodger. Caroline in the back sound asleep. It was funny watching her nod off while I was driving. She finally gave in and was OUT.

Yes, I may look different. I went dark. Rodger was out of town all last week and I surprised him. He has wanted it forever now. He's so lucky to have me. It's growing on me, definitely a change, but it has been fun.

When I first saw the girls, it was funny to see their reaction to my hair. About 5 minutes after Ava first saw my hair, she said, "Cortney can you change it back to yellow?" Caroline liked it at first but towards the end of the weekend, she wanted it back yellow too.

I would get a kick out of Ava sitting on her chair while eating. I asked her if that was comfortable and she definitely thought it was.

Sunday was probably my favorite morning. We played a lot of games. They loved Bingo, Don't Break the Ice (mine and Rodger's favorite), and Mouse Trap. They loved Mouse Trap and getting to build the trap. My mouse got trapped first and then Ava and Caroline's got trapped at the same time by Rodger. The whole trap process worked and Rodger won. As soon as the cage went down over their mouses, they both starting crying. It was so funny but sad at the same time. They didn't want to give up their mice, they wanted to keep them. I think I know what their Birthday present is going to be this year.
We went to Boondocks, they LOVED it. As did I. I've never had the reason to enjoy the Kiddie Cove. That thing is a blast. I joined them a few times.
This slide is marvelous. Caroline and I loved it!

Ava and her adorable face that she pulls.
Waiting ever so patiently for the balloon to pop on this game.
It never popped, we were bummed!
They loved the miniature bowling.
They most definitely wanted to play there mom's favorite game.
And here is Ava's toy she picked out. A Rocket Shooter.
And Caroline's toy. A Spiderman picture with all his friends.
We had fun out on our swing set, that the previous owners left. I'm loving the weather lately, the sun feels so nice. I really want Spring to come!
Here they are enjoying a 3D movie. Aren't the glasses so cute? They didn't last long.
Proof that Rodger Bear loves my hair. I look like a drowned cat in this picture, but it was all I had from the weekend.

We love you girls, come back soon!!

Oh, the highlight of the weekend was when they would call each other "babe" or "honey". It doesn't happen too often but when it does, it cracks me right up.
